Vice President's Foot Narrowly Avoids Mouth

During Vice President Joe Biden's May 21st visit to Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo, he commented on a patch that was given to him by a helicopter crew from the Alaska National Guard.

"Where the hell were you when I was debating Sarah Palin?" he joked. "I could have used this patch. When she said can I call you 'Joe,' I'd say 'Sure, if you'll wear your patch.'"

What does that even mean?

He then followed that attempt at humor with, "By the way, she's quite a lady. And I mean that sincerely."
